The Academic Computer Center Main Lab is home to approximately four hundred computers.
Since it's conception in the spring of 1989, the ACC has served millions of students.

Definition:

Currently, computer usage is gatherered through a program called Labstats, that counts every time a user logs on to the computer.  This is providing more accurate detailed information, that is used for usage history and statistics.  It can also be utilized to map which machines are open and which machines are being used.  With a yearly student log in of over seven hundred thousand, the ACC is one of the most active computer locations on campus

1998-2003, The Academic Computer Center headcount figures came from information collected hourly in the lab. A student employee counted how many users were in the ACC open lab and classrooms every hour, on the half hour. The numbers were entered into a program that allowed us to calculate how many students were in the ACC at certain times of the day or during each week. We collected and compiled this data since January 1988.

This information is used for a variety of reasons including scheduling employees, determining equipment to add or replace, and obtaining funds for the labs that will more evenly distribute the number of computers for users on campus. The ACC has seen over nine million users to date, and averages 400,000 user hours annually, since our opening.
